Billy Foster Bags A Bonus (Press Release)

Lee Westwood's caddie Billy Foster received a bonus in the Big Apple as he prepared for his cancer charity walk next month.

Three generous New Yorkers pressed $100 dollar bills into his hand during practice for this week's US Open at Bethpage Black after hearing of Foster's 90-mile hike in aid of breast and children's cancer charities.

Westwood has given Foster a week off from the Barclays Scottish Open so that he can raise money by carrying a full set of golf clubs all the way from Loch Lomond to Turnberry where The Open is being staged.

"I was both surprised and delighted when the first fan gave me some money and couldn't believe it when others followed suit," said Foster, who has also caddied for Seve Ballesteros, Tiger Woods and Darren Clarke, whose wife Heather died of breast cancer.

Foster is hoping to raise at least £50,000 for the Darren Clarke Foundation and Candelighters, who help the fight against children's cancer.

Golfers from all around the world have also pledged their support which can be made through visiting www.justgiving.com/billyfoster
