Paired with Angel Cabrera and JM Olazabal, Lee has tee-times of 13.20 (GMT+2) from the 1st on Thursday and 8.20 from the 10th on Friday.
Although he began his first round with a bogey, Lee played well, picking up shots at 3,5,9,10 and 13. He was in the bunker off the 18th and was left with a difficult third across the water to the 18th flag, where the pin was placed at the front of the green, leaving himself a long putt for par. Slightly wide of the cup, he had to settle for bogey and a 3-under 68. He lies in T20th place on the leaderboard.
Lee opened with a birdie at the 10th hole in the second round, one-under for the outward nine, but again bogeyed the 1st hole. He carded a string of birdies on the way home, from the 2nd to the 5th and ended the day with a bogey at his final hole (9th). Again 3-under par (68), Lee is now 6-under for the event, in T7th place and will play the weekend.
Lee had a third round tee-time of 12.23 with Paul Waring. Carding a 1-under 70 for the day, Lee remains in T7th spot, four strokes behind leader Rafa Echenique, who is 11-under for the event.
Lee produced a terrific display of golf on Sunday when he shot a joint best-of-the-day 65 from four behind. Having carded four birdies on the outward nine, he was in T1st spot on 11 under. He added a further two birdies at 11 and 12, then playing across water, over the pin at 13, he almost rolled in for a two and settled for another birdie. He blotted his card when he bogeyed the next but with his final round of 65, he ended the day in joint 1st spot on 13-under par, with Martin Kaymer, for a sudden-death playoff.
At the 1st hole, both players found the rough on the right-hand side. Kaymer's next pulled into the water hazard, but not the water. Lee didn't make the green but his ball found a gap between the sleepers and the signage board, and he had to take his fourth from the drop zone. He carried his chip onto the green, which left him a 20ft putt for bogey. The ball ran a few feet past, leaving Martin Kaymer to putt to win the title.
Lee won €444,440 in prize money and moves up to 10th in the Race to Dubai and 18th in World Ranking.
