Lee, currently third in WR for the first time in his career and 4th in the Race to Dubai plays in the BMW PGA Championship, which will be played at Wentworth for the first time. His best finishes in this event were T2nd in 2000 and T9th in 1997, but missed the cut last year.
Prior to the event, Lee and family attended the 2010 Tour Dinner, where he was presented with the Harry Vardon Trophy and the Player's Player Award.
Lee, paired with Henrik Stenson and Oliver Wilson, with a 12.15 tee-time on Thursday, said "I didn't hit it great today and made a few mistakes", when he shot a 1-under par 70.
" I did not hit it as well as I would have liked to have done. The swing has felt a bit off since coming back from the Masters, and you need to be on your game now, because this is certainly a stiffer test than it used to be".
When asked about the redesign of the course by Ernie Els, he replied, "Well, I think for everybody, first and foremost, it's been dropped from 72 to 71 with the 12th playing as a par 4. So every score is one worse under par than it used to be.
The greens are trickier. Some greens are easier. I think of 3, 7, 14, the ones with the big tiers. The finish is a lot tougher than it used to be. There are not such obvious chances for birdie and an occasional chance for eagle on the last two holes now. And there's more trouble around the golf course I think".
He had a 7.50 start on Friday. Lee opened with a bogey at the par-five first after finding the bunker with his second shot and made another bogey at the third. He picked up a shot at the 4th but had back-to-back bogeys at 7 and 8 before pulling a shot back at the 9th.
He was two over at the turn and one over for the event. He then picked up birdies at 11 and 14, before making a triple bogey at the 15th for a 74 and was 2-over for the event. At lunchtime, when he ended his round, it seriously looked as if he would not play the weekend, but he ended the day in T54th place. He had a 9.45 start on Saturday with Thongchai Jaidee and ended the day on 4-over par, in T48th place, following a third round 73.
Lee played the final round with Henrik Stenson, with a 10.10 tee-time , and saved the best 'til last for a 5 under 66. He birdied five of the first ten holes, adding just one bogey to his card at 13, and signed off with a birdie at the last . Lee achieved a top 10 finish with his one-under par 283 and €83,400 in prize money.
