CIMB Classic-Ace on 11 R2

Lee has arrived in Malaysia (after a 27 hour journey) for the CIMB Classic at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club, the scene of his win at the Maybank Malaysian Open in April.

The CIMB Classic is the only official PGA TOUR FedExCup event in Southeast Asia.

Grouped with Sergio Garcia and Patrick Reed,  Lee has an 8.05 tee-time on Thursday and 9.15 on Friday (GMT +8)

Lee had signed for an even par 72 before play was suspended due to inclement weather but the round was completed for the day and Lee finished T39th place on the leaderboard.

Opening with birdies at the first two holes, Lee added a further birdie at 8 to go 3-under par. Weather conditions were steamy and he upped the pressure at the par 3 11th hole with a marvellous ace  225 yards into the wind. Continuing to keep the bogies off his card, Lee added further birdies at 16 and 18 for a 7-under 65. He now lies 3 strokes adrift of the lead in T3rd position.

'I played nicely, got off to a good start, birdied the first couple of holes, kept it going.  Obviously hit a great shot at 11, the rescue; that was the highlight of the round, went in the hole.
You know, you need a bit of luck, but at the same time you gotta hit well and straight, so it happens now and again.  And went back out after the rain delay and birdied two of the last three and had a really good chance at 17 as well to about eight feet, so pleased with the way I finished, and 65 has got me right into the tournament', he said later.

Lee has a third round tee-time of 9.35 from the 1st, with Sergio Garcia and Kevin Na.
